Individual grants of up to $2,500 will be made available, to be matched by the farmer to assist farmers in their risk management decision making.  This recognizes the fact that there are a number of new MPCI and parametric products available to farmers and they may need assistance in understanding and evaluating these products.

AgriRisk has welcomed the initiative.  “We are hoping that this support will encourage farmers to get sound advice about their production risk management strategies and assist them in establishing tailored solutions that will really help in the event of significant production losses,” John van der Vegt said.
