The TravelCard survey also found:

  • 55% of respondents who paid for medical costs overseas did not make a claim on their return
  • 32% believed claims are only partially reimbursed
  • 31% believed claims took too long to settle
  • Travellers are most likely to claim when they are forced to cancel a trip before departing
